Constance A. Burns Dutifully Honors the Soldiers that Protect and Honor the Country they Love

Constance A. Burns is the president, founder and CEO of the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. (NAAV), a nonprofit organization that provides veteran’s services for severely wounded warriors and their dependants, military caregivers, single parent veterans, and veterans of war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Specializing in fundraising, leadership services and company development gives Ms. Burns the edge she needs to manage the entire operation with precision, and apply her knowledge and skills to such essential processes as the effective employment of financial management solutions.

 

With more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Burns utilizes her many professional strengths to the advantage of the nonprofit organization. Fluent in communications, Ms. Burns establishes contacts, partnerships and sponsors, and handles fundraising initiatives on behalf of NAAV, as she is also ever passionate about helping others and assisting the hundreds of veterans needing help and monetary assistance for utilities, food and rent.

 

Ms. Burns heads an establishment that was founded with a mission to be a provider of health care information, and advocacy, counseling, housing coordination, and educational programs for all service members, with an emphasis on the severely wounded and single parent service members, military caregivers, veterans, and their families at risk of not returning to normalcy after serving in a war, and residing in underserved areas nationwide. As an award-winning businesswoman, Ms. Burns works tirelessly toward meeting or exceeding the goals of the organization by providing the people who have served the country they love with the care that they deserve.

On November 2, 2013, the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. (NAAV) is hosting its Annual Fundraiser and Silent Auction at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery, 702 Eighth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20068 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Our keynote speakers are Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (District of Columbia), the ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management and Major General Charles L. Nabors, U.S. Army (Ret) Executive Advisor within the Booz Allen Hamilton’s Defense market.  NAAV’s other distinguished speakers includes Chaplain Geraldine Manning, Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret); Cynthia Gibbs, Lt. Colonel , U.S. Air Force (Ret) and Ivan Ware, World War II Veteran and one of the Original Tuskegee Airmen who will also speak at the event in support of American Veterans. 

Our theme for the event is “Giving Back to Those Who Gave.”  NAAV is dedicated to giving back to the veteran community. In fact during 2012, 98 cents of every dollar contributed went to the veterans, their caregivers, and their families.

Proceeds from the event and silent auction will be used to assist American Veterans and their family members in the Greater Washington Metropolitan area who are most in need of counseling and housing. Event tickets for corporate sponsors/attendees are $150.00, $50.00 for the general public including Veterans and Active Duty Military members, and $25.00 for Wounded Warriors.

NAAV to participate in the Town of Chesapeake Beach's Stars and Stripes Festival, Memorial Day Weekend 2012

Chesapeake Beach's Stars and Stripes Festival

The Town of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, is planning a three day weekend event, to honor and pay tribute to our Fallen Heroes and military. Opening ceremonies are planned Saturday morning, and closing ceremonies are scheduled for Monday afternoon. There will be a wide range of family-friendly activities lasting throughout each day of the event, including guest speakers, military drill teams, a patriotic parade, evening shows, and more!

The mission of NAAV is to serve all veterans, and their family members, from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam Conflict, Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom the severely wounded warriors, and particularly single parent service members and veterans by:

  •  Helping to access their benefits
  • Improving communication and coordination
  • Collaborating among health agencies, medical professionals, organizations, educational organizations, and the public.
